    MLS players vote to strike if no deal by March 25 (AP)

    Major League Soccer players voted to strike if a new labor contract isn't agreed to before the season opener on March 25. The league's first collective bargaining agreement, a five-year deal, originally was set to run out Jan. 31 but was extended twice while negotiations continued. It expired Feb.

    Red Bulls acquire Robinson from Toronto (AP)

    The New York Red Bulls have acquired Welsh former national midfielder Carl Robinson from Toronto FC for a fourth-round pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. The Red Bulls announced the move Thursday. They say Robinson will be added to the roster pending a visa approval. The 33-year-old Robinson has appeared in 74 games with Toronto over the past three years, mostly as a defensive midfielder.

    NY Red Bulls sign goalkeeper Greg Sutton (AP)

    The New York Red Bulls have signed goalkeeper Greg Sutton. New York general manager Erik Soler thinks the Canadian can push Bouna Coundoul for the starting job. Sutton joins New York after three seasons with Toronto FC, where he made 33 starts. He had seven shutouts.     MF Victorine retires after 10-year career (AP)

    Chivas USA midfielder Sasha Victorine has retired from Major League Soccer after 10 seasons because of recurring injuries. Chivas USA made the announcement Wednesday. He joined the team at the trade deadline in 2008, and had two goals and two assists in 2008 and last season. Victorine also played for the Los Angeles Galaxy and Kansas City during his MLS career, with 32 goals and 41 assists in 242...

    MLS management and union end 2 days of talks (AP)

    Negotiators for Major League Soccer management and players have ended two days of talks and agreed to keep up discussions with the federal mediation service. George H. Cohen, director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, convened talks Tuesday and Wednesday. The next session has not been set.
